Look into the sky… Memories

In one day, I took 2 pictures of the sky. Suddenly, the sky seems so beautiful to me. While I’m looking up there, I started thinking about my grandparents and how much I’ve missed them. Its the Qing Ming Festival and we “visited” them at the cemetery. As we were talking amongst ourselves, I was thinking how different things will be if they were still around today. They will be able to see Ethan, Ezanne and Evan and probably be proud of what I’m doing these days. Well, I believe they are seeing from somewhere, some place. Ah Gong, Ah Ma, I miss you.

Goodbye Pram

Ethan, Ezanne and Evan have grown up. Ethan is 6 this year, Ezanne is 3 while Evan will turn 2. Since we decided to stop at 3, it marks the time when we start giving away some of the used clothes and throwing away stuff which can’t be used by anyone else anymore.

We started giving away some of the baby clothes and the next to go was the baby pram which we have used for 6 years by our 3 children. Interestingly, did you know that we got this pram for Ethan when mummy was about 5 months pregnant at Suntec City. Then, as a first time parent, we just wanted to prepare ourselves as early as possible and so we bought it and brought it back home quickly, eagerly anticipating for the birth of Ethan and eagerly waiting to put him into the pram.

This pram has served us well and started to malfunction. The children have grown up and they just can’t fit into the pram anymore. So its time to say Goodbye to the Pram.

Those were the days

Sometimes, its good to look at the pictures that we have taken. The pictures reminds us of our good old days.

Recently, I saw a picture which I took with my cousins when we about 4 to 5 years old. If I remembered correctly, it was taken in 1987 when we were going to Marina Square to watch a Mickey Mouse performance. According to my cousin, Michelle, she did not attend the performance with us as she was too afraid to see Mickey and friends.

This picture brought back so much memories and I thought what better way to document it is to submit it to SingaporeMemory.sg. SingaporeMemory.sg is a national project that aims to collect 5 million memories by 2015. Have you submitted yours?

Spending time with Ezanne on her birthday

As a parent, we will want to spend as much time we our children, especially on their special day. I remembered that I did not take any leave to accompany Ezanne last year, can’t remember if I did the year before but this year, I made it a point that I have to do it.

It was the first time she celebrated her birthday in school with her friends. Unfortunately, Ethan was feeling unwell that day and was unable to celebrate with her. Nevertheless, she had a good time in school and she like it very much because all the attention was on her.

After school, we brought Evan and her to Explorer Kids for an afternoon of workout. It was a weekday and there was just us when we arrived. Ezanne was not quite confident initially with the obstacles, but slowly and gradually, she built up her confidence and after 2 hours, she decided that she wants to continue playing and refuses to return home.

Ezanne is growing up and I’m glad to see her building her confidence. She is still as cool as ever and now I’ve got a new name for her, Ice Princess.

Evan’s first steps

Evan has started to learn walking and we are at this paranoid stage. We are happy that he is learning how to walk but we are also unhappy that he is learning how to walk at such a young age, I mean at about 14 months. It is a Chinese belief that the later you walk, the easier life you will experience when you grows up in the future and this is why we are hoping that he will only start walking on his own probably a few months later.

Recently, he is not only learning how to walk but climbing up the sofa too. The more new things he learn, the happier we are but it also means that it will come with a new set of problems, but definitely, happy problems.

Another kite flying experience

It was a bright and sunny day and it was another great day for outdoor activity. I brought Ethan and Ezanne to Punggol for a Kite Day event and it was an opportunity for them to fly kites again. After the first kite flying outing, both of them were actually looking forward to the next one.

This time, Ezanne brought along a frisbee which was really enthusiastic to play with. It was probably playing the wrong thing at the wrong time, but since the field was big enough, we thought we will just play it.

It was not a windy day. The wind come and go and it was really hot, probably not the best day to fly kites. Yet the children enjoyed themselves so much that they did not complain they were tired at all and wanted to stay on. It was definitely another good chance for us to bond with the children and I hope to have more outings with the children.

The E’s Weight

Its easier to get Ethan and Ezanne on the weighing machine because they are older and will get quite excited standing on it. As for Evan, its usually quite challenging. This morning, I decided to give it a try and ask Ethan, Ezanne and Evan to stand on the weighing machine, one by one, to take their weight. We took and the result is out. As of 12 February 2012, Ethan is 19kg, Ezanne is 11kg and Evan is 9kg.

Ezanne eat alot, but she seldom puts on weight. In fact, she eats more than Ethan but somehow, probably she’s got mummy’s gene, she is also petite. Technically, Evan is 22 months younger than Ezanne but he is just 2kg lighter than her. Anyway, weight isn’t really that important. What is most important is they will grow up healthy and happy.

The day I’ve been waiting for

I entered the workforce at a relatively young age and all these while, I’ve been wanting to upgrade myself and get a degree. Probably, its peer pressure since most of my friends around me had at least a degree and there is a need to upgrade ourselves constantly as well. However, I’ve been quite hesitant to do so because of my busy work schedules and my family.

More than 3 years ago, after some persuasion and serious considerations, I decided to head back to school and I took up part time studies. It was a challenge to myself, leaving school after a considerable number of years and having to juggle between work and family.

Well, the time has come and I’ve finally graduated. Looking back, I’ve no idea how did I ever manage everything. But I attribute it to my strong family support and friends who had helped me along the way. It would not be possible without them. I know my parents are proud of my achievement and I’m glad that I’ve did not disappoint them. Thank you for the journey and for the many more good years ahead.

Ezanne’s 3rd Birthday Celebration

Ezanne celebrated her 3rd birthday yesterday evening. Although it was a day she was looking forward to, but it was a day which she couldn’t enjoy herself much because she was having a fever. Throughout the night, she was moody and was spending most time with mummy.

This year’s celebration, we had our cousins and niece who were back from Australia to celebrate with us and this occasion itself was a good time for us to catch up.

While Ezanne’s birthday celebration with our relatives are over, we will now be preparing for her birthday celebrations with her friends at school on her 15 February. Its her first time celebrating with her friends and she told me that she wants her friends to sing “Happy Birthday” song for her.

Evan at 13 months

Evan is already 13 months old. How time flies, I still remember when he was baby whom we carried him around, at 13 months, he just learnt how to stand and is beginning to learn how to walk. He has been blabbering alot, probably due to the influence of his elder siblings who just keep talking non-stop. For now, Evan is addicted to me. I use the word addicted because sometimes their mood change and they might just want to stick to others. These days, the first thing he does when he sees me on the bed is to call, “Dad Dad”. Whenever he goes, he will always remember me and call for me. You might probably think that he gets bullied by Ethan and Ezanne and he will just prove you wrong. In fact, Ethan loves him alot and he actually bullies Ezanne (there have been instances when Ezanne actually cried).

We are looking forward to his next milestone.
