Christmas is coming

25 days to Christmas and we are getting into mood of the holiday season. This year, my Dad seems to be more excited than us. He started putting up the Christmas tree with the children and decorating our home. He made use of whatever materials he had to do a Christmas tree at our dining area.

Don’t you think he is creative? I think so.

Blog Blockage?

I’ve been blogging for 3 years and until recently, I’ve realised that I’ve got some blog blockage. Bluntly, I think I’ve run out of ideas of what to blog about or maybe I simply too lazy to blog. If you have noticed, my blog isn’t as updated as before, but I’m still trying my best to do so. Probably, its the expectation that I’ve given to myself, I want to present a quality blog post with good pictures to accompany with it. Its not easy to do so because frankly, before I make a post, I’ll think through and conceptualize how I want to present it. It sounds stressful but its actually very encouraging after hearing the positive comments.

What I need now is….. Clouds of ideas on my future post…Clouds are like the tonnes of  ideas that I need, probably like those heavy ones that we see blurring our city skyline during the rainy days.

Importance of Marriage

Marriage is not just about having witnesses and friends to see us signing on the dotted line, but its about the commitments we made between us. Over the years, I’ve came across many friends who got married and sadly, some separated or even divorce.

I’m married for nearly 9 years and I will be cheating if I say that its a smooth sailing ones. There will be quarrels and arguments and I take them positively, its a form of communication, but both parties should know where it should end. After all, either 1 party should give in to another. It seems to be the easiest way out by keeping all the problems to yourself and start looking for someone else when you are unhappy with your first love (I mean your husband/wife).

I always wonder why people looked for someone else when they are married? How do they even manage such relationships? Don’t they feel ashamed about doing it? While we can say that we have the freedom to choose, but seriously, being a lawful husband and wife and by signing on the dotted line, we ought to be more responsible. For the 3rd parties, I questioned how do they feel breaking up others family? If you are the victim and if its your husband or your wife who got “snatched”, how would you feel? You might just feel, “I’m with the person whom I like, so what’s the big deal?” Think again, if he/she can do it to his/her former partner, he/she can do the same to you too! Why would you want to suffer by hiding behind the back when you can’t even have a name for yourself officially?

In a relationship, communication is one of the most important thing. We should constantly communicate and share with each other the problems and dissatisfaction we have with each other and not complain when we can’t take it any longer. When you’ve reached such a time, I guess, its time to say Bye Bye.

Enjoy the good time you have with your husband/wife and children.

My iMessage was intercepted

If you are using iMessage without any SIM Card, you got to be really careful. Last week, my cousin started to message me with her new iPhone. She did not have any SIM card and the messaging was done through WIFI connection. Somehow, when she used her WIFI connection, she was assigned to a mobile number. While we were chatting, I received a message from another person, this person was the owner of the mobile number that was assigned to my cousin. So it means I was chatting with 2 persons but to my cousin, she thought it was just between both of us.

According to this unknown user, this is a common problem that Apple users faced and the solution is to restart iMessage and re-login with Apple ID. I’m not too sure if anyone else has encountered this problem before but you got to be careful the next time you use your iMessage.

Getting on the kiddie ride

Earlier this evening, it was once of those days which I get a rare chance to get home early. Since I was home early, we brought Ethan, Ezanne and Evan for a short walk. While mummy was shopping for her stuff, Ethan and Ezanne decided to spend some time at the kiddie ride. Evan saw it and wanted to get on the ride.

After mummy was done, we got all three of them into one and look at them, they simply enjoy it. Evan was fascinated with it and started making lots of noise. As they were busy exploring the ride, it was not really easy to get a shot of them and the picture you’ve seen, is one of the best that Mummy took.

Opening of Punggol Promenade (Punggol Point)

It was the official opening of Phase 2 of Punggol Promenade project yesterday (20 November 2011), this time its the stretch along Punggol Point or better known as Punggol Beach. This project itself sees the completion of a amphitheater, exercise area, soon to be opened horse riding centre, lotus pond and a viewing deck which give you an excellent view of the Straits of Johore.

The opening of this project is one of the many developments that have been completed in Punggol in recent months. This stretch is now linked to Punggol Promenade (Sungei Serangoon stretched, where Popeyes is located) and will be connected to final stretch (Sungei Punggol) which will form the adventure trail and will be completed next year. Frankly, other than going to OBS, I don’t really pay much attention to this place but probably its time to bring my children to visit this beautiful place.

Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodle at Pek Kio Market

In Central Singapore, there is a market called Pek Kio which have quite a number of good food. One day, I got to try Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodle.

The minimum price for a bowl of prawn noodle is $5 and it can go as high as $10, although, my colleague told me that sometimes it can be as high as $15 (depending on the size of the prawns). The aunty selling the noodle is quite attitude but speak good English. For the sake of good food, I guess we can just tolerate her attitude.

If you like pork lard, you will definitely like this prawn noodle. They have put lots of lard into it which is why the prawn noodle is alittle oily and might not be suitable for those health conscience ones. If you purchase $8 and above, you will be given a free tissue paper. But what is a packet of tissue paper? Overall, the prawns are fresh and I thought the taste of the soup is acceptable and to my liking. If you want to try, be prepared to queue for at least 30 minutes.

If you want to try, here is the address, Blk 41A Cambridge Road, #01-15, Pek Kio Hawker Centre.

Disney LIVE

Last week, we spend a night at Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre watching Disney LIVE. It was full of anticipation since it was our first visit to the Grand Theatre and the show was returning after its first run in September.

Ethan was really excited and Ezanne was alittle tired. As you can see, only Ethan was interested in taking the pictures.

The show had quite a number of Disney characters from Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Toy Story. There was Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Donald. Ethan was quite disappointed because he was looking for Daisy Duck and we thought the show was short. While we may argue that the attention span of the children are short, the show lack interactivity. After watching this show and Disney On Ice, I realised this is one problem that Disney productions had, there is a lack of interactivity with the spectators.

This is probably the last paid show that we will be watching this year and let’s hope that there will be more great productions in 2012.

Say Cheese!

Ezanne became more sociable since she attended school. She used to hide behind the camera and prefer to take pictures of others rather than being taken. These days, she is gradually falling in love with the camera and started posting. When taking pictures, she can be naughty and cheeky. Its really fun taking photos of her.

The latest set of photos were taken at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

Ethan’s Creativity

I like to see Ethan draw and play. Many times, he will always surprise me with his creativity and what he can do. While I’m glad that he is so creative, but frankly, I also hope that he will be able to do well academically.

Recently, Ethan had been watching Power Rangers and was so into it that he could sing the show’s theme song and behave like the rangers. While we were shopping earlier in the day, he showed me Power Rangers’ “Megazord”. Using his creativity, he piece together a “Megazord” using the lego pieces that he could find. He then showed me how the “Megazord” could detach itself from its main body and become an aeroplane.

Maybe its time for me to start investing more in such developmental toys for him.
