My 1st Army Half Marathon

I made my first attempt at Army Half Marathon last Sunday. It was my second 21km run (the first was Standard Chartered Marathon last December) and I had some reservations on my performance just before the run started. I was not too sure how I will perform since I had quite a difficult time in my last marathon, trying to complete it.

A few reasons why I like running at a half marathon. First, you can just sweat it out and it feels really good after the run, though the aches and pains are something that makes you wonder “Why do I want to get myself into such a state in the first place?” Second, its all about a test for myself, the determination and endurance. I always wonder why marathon organizer always leave the worst for the last. I was actually made to run up Fort Canning during my last 4km. Third, with the roads all closed, it means that you get to run on roads that you will never get to run at all and the routes sometimes, will bring you to new places where its worth exploring. For the latest run, I’ve explore Gardens By The Bay East. Take a look at the picture I took at 6.30am. Personally, I thought its wonderful.

Time to start training for my next run.
