Last week, I was invited by People’s Association to share my experience on using social media to engage the community. That was my very first public speaking experience and I just couldn’t explain to you the nervousness that I had. Basically, I can’t sleep, can’t eat and can’t concentrate before the sharing session. When others were speaking, I was going through my iPad, wondering what should I say when its my turn. The last thing I want was a complete black out.
I was glad that everything just happen when I started to speak. I got the momentum and information just flows as the presentation went. After the sharing session, I had the opportunity to answer questions as a panelist and I can say that a panelist job is not an easy job since you will not know what questions to expect.
Finally, the best part of the public speaking experience was a chance to get up close and personal with Mr Yam Ah Mee and I got the chance to take a photo with him.
