Every time during wifey, Ethan, Ezanne or Evan’s birthday, I will always think of what birthday cake to buy. In my opinion, a birthday celebration is never complete without a cake.
For wifey’s birthday, I was driving around the Katong area and wondering, should I just go to Parkway Parade and get a cake or where should I get it? I asked on Twitter and was glad to find some recommendation but in the end, I got it from Awfully Chocolate.
Don’t get a shock if you enter the shop without seeing any cakes, the cakes are kept at the refrigerators below the cashier counter. The cakes are available in 2 sizes, 6″ or 8″ and a 6″ can serve approximately 6 persons, quite reasonable I thought. We had a 6″ Chocolate Banana and I simply love it. 2 layers of bananas and bitter sweet chocolate.
Service is very important especially so when they want customers to keep patronizing. Unlike other cake shops, Awfully Chocolate helps you to “write” your birthday wishes on the cake itself and its available in several colours. Awfully Chocolate started in Joo Chiat, so if you want, you may visit their East Coast Road shop at 131 East Coast Road but parking is a problem though. But you can also visit their other branches at ION, Raffles City or Vivocity.
