I was quite surprised by what my maid said after I told her that she will be going home. She said, “Sir, my husband is useless and he is stupid. I came to work because he is useless and I need the money to feed my 3 children.” I’m not too sure why she said that, maybe she wants me to change my mind and send her back to the agent instead, but given her quality of work and the frustrations that she had put me through, I wouldn’t want to my fellow country men to suffer what I’ve been through.
I bought the tickets from JetStar and specially took leave just to settle all the necessary matters with her.
Her eyes were red when she was going through the immigration, then I thought, “Why are you crying now? If you have wanted to stay in Singapore to work longer, you should have behave yourself.”
I’m not too sure which part of Manila is she is now but whatever she does, I wish her all the best!
