Our food expedition continued and brought us to Ngong Ping 360. At Ngong Ping 360, its not only about the food, but to take the cable car to see the world tallest seated bronze buddha. It was a pity that the weather was alittle foggy and thought that great shots of the airport runway will be taken if it was clearer.
While we were traveling up, we took the Crystal Cabin. What’s so special about this cabin is that you get to see what’s happening below since its a glass bottom.
The 5.2km journey takes approximately 25 minutes from Tung Chung Cable Car Centre. Along the way, you will see the sea, buildings, trekking routes and some tombstones. We were discussing among ourselves and thought how do their family members get to pray to their ancestors. From about 1km to Ngong Ping, you will be able to see the Buddha, which I thought was pretty magnificent.
My last visit to see the Buddha was 4 years ago and so much have changed. They’ve redeveloped the attraction and name it Ngong Ping with a man made village in between.
Along the way to see the Buddha, you will pass by souvenir shops, eateries as well as exhibits of cable cars from different parts of the world such as China, France and Brazil. As we walk nearer to the Buddha, the sky was slowly and surely clearing up as well. We managed to get our friends from the Philippines to take a photo for us.
With my zoom lens, I was able to get a close up shot of the Buddha.
After the Buddha we walked further in where there is a temple and people were praying. According to my friend, the beancurd behind the temple was one of the best and is strongly recommended.
The beancurd and the fried stuff were tasty. The beancurd comes with ginger soup which makes it sweet and alittle hot. It was quite a refreshing dish. Take a look at the satisfying face of my friend, Huifan.
With the great food, we spent quite awhile at the cafe. If you visit Ngong Ping 360, remember to try the beancurd.

fantastic the statue looks.
Did you take the vegetarian food at the temple? It is good. I had it the last time I was there.
Nava > If you visit Hong Kong, that place is a must go. Though at such high altitude, surprisingly, you can’t really see it from anywhere.
CSeek > I didn’t try cause I was rushing for time to my next destination.
Did you climb all the way up to see the buddha?
Sun > I didn’t climb.
