A typical HK Tea Cafe

Frankly speaking, I’ve never visited any traditional Hong Kong Tea Cafe during my past 2 visits, I’ve only visited those really commercialised ones like Da Jia Le. So this visit was different. We went into one along Java Road, which was about 5 minutes walk away from our hotel, Hotel Ibis.

Other than the menu that were made available on the table itself, they were put up on the walls too.

Each meal that we ordered came with either a milk tea or lemon tea. Somehow, I thought the milk tea that was being served was not as good as what I’ve expected. For this cafe that we go to, we are expected to add the sugar ourselves to our drinks.

And finally, I’ve got the chance to try Chu Qian Yi Ding Mian. I ordered the instant noodle to have luncheon meat and fried egg. The verdict both wifey and I had, GOOD!

My friend Huifan ordered a western meal with salad and it was fruit salad that was being served.

Since I was sharing the instant noodle with wifey, I had to order something else to fill my tummy. In this case, it was the pork bun. Its different from the one I had in Macau (I’ll share the one I had in Macau in my Macau blog post). It has smaller piece of pork and the bun was softer.

Well, its yet another great experience and remember to try these authentic tea cafes when you are in Hong Kong.

Yeah. After having it, I thought the main difference is the soup.
