So you will be wondering where is Step 1? Step 1 is where Ethan is right now, the Pre-School. In 2 years time, Ethan will be going to primary school and after hearing stories from people around me about what the primary school education system is right now, I decided to make a trip back to my primary school to understand the situation myself.
The first thing I observed was the tight security. There was only 1 point of entry and everyone who entered had to sign in and collect a visitor pass.
I’ve spoken to the teachers and understood that so far, its still double sessions which means that there is still a morning and afternoon session. Due to the load of the school bag, students are now issued with lockers to keep their books in schools. However its up to their own discretion, which one to be brought home and which one to be left in school (since they will need to do their homework).
As compared to my time, the school pays more emphasis on their physical training and leadership training as well. They will now have to attend OBS Camp when they are in Primary 5 (I think so).
While this session was a rather brief one but the advise from the teacher will definitely help in the preparation for Ethan and the rest to Primary 1.
