Hai Seng Ah Balling

This is a stall that I’ve patronised for more than 25 years. 25 years ago, they were located at a market where Central is, then it was known at New Market Food Centre. Ah Balling at glutinous rice balls in Teochew Style and since I’m a Teochew, this is one of my favourite food.

Over the past 25 years, one thing doesn’t change, their quality. Their soup is just right, not too sweet and not too bland. The texture of the Ah-Balling is smooth and the skin of it isn’t too thick. They are not stingy on the ingredients too and have a wide variety of flavours like yam, red bean, durian, peanut and sesame.

These days, they sell frozen Ah Ballings for their customer to bring it back and cook themselves and the good thing is, Pandan Leaves are given to you for free for you to cook the soup.

If you’ve not try it before, I suggest that you should. Its located at Blk 335 Smith Street, #02-59 Chinatown Complex Market.
