Its a car free day

Its a special day, it was a car free day for me. I was scheduled to attend a training at Tanjong Pagar and since parking is so expensive in town, I decided that I should just take the public transport. Its a long long time since I take public transport to work and this is a special moment for me.

By the time the train reaches Simei, the train was fully pack. The amazing thing about taking public transport is you will see all sorts of people from different walks of life. There are stubborn ones who refused to move in and give you 1001 reasons not to move in, some who gets pushy with you and others dreaming away in their own world etc.

Along the way, I realised that the train doors at the platforms were either installed or in service while the one in Simei are no where in sight.

While I was walking to the training centre, I see many different things and took the picture above. I thought what a picture to depict the new and old of public housing. Well, these are things that you will not see when you drive.

When I was returning, I took a train which has half the cabin chair-less. I was pretty shock (I understand that this has been around for quite sometime, but I’ve not take the public transport for a long time too).

When I arrived at Simei MRT Station, I’ve got an urged to take a cab home after seeing this…

I told myself that this car free day will not be complete if I’ve not taken the bus back, so I waited.

Finally, I reach home telling myself that I survived the “ordeal”.
