I couldn’t really concentrate at work during lunch time today, not because I was hungry, but I was anxious how Ethan will behave since its his first full day in school. I accompanied him to school on Monday and already felt diffeerent – He was K1 and the school has made some changes to his meal time etc, felt so awkward.
Anyway, we decided to put him on full day due to the following reasons…
1) To prepare him for Primary 1 – Ok, I know I’m abit kiasu since he is 2 years away from Primary 1, but its time to start preparing him.
2) Enrichment Class – The school has scheduled for his speech and drama class at 4.30pm. It just doesn’t make sense to bring him home at 1pm and send him back to school after that.
Since I couldn’t control my anxiety, I decided to call the school to find out how he was doing. At 2.30pm, he was not taking his nap and playing puzzles with his friends. After explaining to the teacher on his sleeping patterns and how to actually get him to sleep, he finally went to sleep with alittle hesitation, but still manage to take his nap.
When I return home, Ethan told me that he enjoy school today but said that he would prefer to sleep at home rather than in school. Ah, I guess we just need more effort to explain the situation to him and let him get used to it.
For today, I will say WELL DONE ETHAN!
