Anything can happen when they are together

So what happens when you put Ethan, Ezanne and Evan together? They simply love to be entertained. Ethan and Ezanne will try very hard to entertain their little brother and Evan will be there, enjoying the entertainment, brought to him by his truly brothers and sisters.

When Evan starts crying, they will try to comfort him. If he stares blankly at both of them, Ethan and Ezanne will try ways to make him smile. Its really interesting to see how they behave and bond together. Ethan and Ezanne will also want to try carrying him, but definitely its with the assistance of the parents.

At this moment, Evan is about 6 weeks old and we observed that he wants people to be around him, talking to him and playing with him. If there is no one around him, he will start crying. Pretty interesting to see a baby behaving this way and know what he wants. By the way, I got wifey to shoot a video of the 3 of them together.

Ethan loves drawing

Children progresses differently at different stages. For Ethan, he suddenly fell in love with drawing. Everyday, he will grab pieces of paper with a pen or drawing board with markers and start telling everyone

Excuse Me, I’m very busy. Very busy drawing, don’t disturb me ah

One day, when I return home after class, he ran towards me and told me that he drew a sun and clouds with rain (it was raining on the day when he drew). So, he showed me the sun first.

I guess the happy face on the sun tells me that he is a happy kid? I presume so. Then he showed me the clouds with rain.

You can see the rain but not the clouds clearly. But then again, I’m pretty proud of his art pieces.

4 modules = 2 more to go

Finally, I’ve made it through for another 2 more modules for my studies. After completing the project work, which is due for submission in 6 weeks’ time, I’ll be left with just 2 more and that’s it, I’m going to bid farewell to life of being a student. I’m not too sure if I’ll continue my studies in the future, but for now, I don’t think I will.

Assignments, projects and tests and these are the 3 that will really stress you out (or at least for me). Its really not easy juggling between work, family, study, social life and community work and being able to balance them is an art. I’m looking forward to May and can’t wait to complete the remaining 2 modules.

What do you see?

I was stuck in a jam this morning while going to class. The traffic was basically at a standstill (my car didn’t move at all for about 3 minutes) and so I thought it was the best chance to take a photo of a building from another angle.

If I don’t tell you that this is Marina Bay Sands, will you think it is? I thought this photo was pretty obvious, but maybe I’m the photographer that’s why I think so. Here are some comments that my friends left on my Facebook,

So what do you think this is? Share with me your thoughts.

It takes more than 40 minutes to log off and still it didn’t

I’m not here to sell Apple products. But since I’ve switched from Windows to Macintosh, I did not regret anything at all. The reason is simple, the processing is simply much faster than any laptops or PCs operating on Windows OS. My experience today prove that I was not wrong at all.

I was trying to restart my laptop and began the process by logging off. Typically, I expect that it will take about 5 mins (at most) to log off. I waited for 15 minutes, 30 minutes and waited and waited until I decided that I should just do a hard restart since I wouldn’t know how long more it will take.

Well, if you were me, will you continue to wait? If you were me, would you have switched to another OS if you were given an option to?

Chinese New Year Preparation

If you take alook at the calendar, you will know by now that Chinese New Year is slightly less than 2 weeks away. Time is really passing by us at a fast speed and so far, I’m still not quite prepared for this occasion yet, well, I’m still not quite done with my shopping.

This evening, together with my dad and Ezanne, we went to the nursery along Bedok South to buy the CNY plants. In my opinion, a home without CNY plants is incomplete. This year, there were more people shopping for the plants and generally in terms of quantity, there are more but the variety is a little limited.

Still, other than the traditional ones like you see above, these nurseries continue to improvised on their existing products to cater to the market. Since this is the Year of the Rabbit, they came up with some rabbit shaped potted plants.

For us, due to our limited space and the children, we decided to get a really small pot. Just look at Ezanne, she is thinking which one to buy (actually, she didn’t choose, but she was just posing since she knew that Daddy was taking photo of her).

I can’t wait for Chinese New Year and preparations will definitely get more intense as we get nearer to it.

N.E.mation! 5… The continuation from the workshop

Do you still remember the N.E.mation! 5 workshop that I attended in November? It was actually a claymation workshop for bloggers to have a better understanding on animation and how much time and effort students put in to produce a final clip. I missed the behind the scenes tour that was organized after this workshop due to some other commitments but finally got a chance to preview the 10 clips that were produced. After watching it, I’ve just got to say, “EXCELLENT”.

As a way to recognized the hard work of the students, I thought we should just encourage them by voting. Here’s how to vote,

I’ve cast my vote, so what are you waiting for?

Have you ever regretted?

Probably its not my day, but I’ve been feeling really moody. I’m not too sure why, maybe its comments that have been made, maybe its about the things that I’ve seen or maybe I’m just too tired. So while I’m alone, I started to think of stuff that has happened to me and if I’ve ever regretted any decisions that were made or any actions that I’ve done. I’ll be lying if I said no, definitely there is.

Life is never fair and is full of contradictions. I always thought can I rewind my life and go back to one which I can start all over again? While many images passes me through, I saw this quote written by the CEO of Coca-Cola Brian G. Dyson.

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air.

You name them - Work – Family – Health – Friends – Spirit, and you’re keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls — family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.

My mood now is just like this picture, watery…

Back to School Step 2: Primary School

So you will be wondering where is Step 1? Step 1 is where Ethan is right now, the Pre-School. In 2 years time, Ethan will be going to primary school and after hearing stories from people around me about what the primary school education system is right now, I decided to make a trip back to my primary school to understand the situation myself.

The first thing I observed was the tight security. There was only 1 point of entry and everyone who entered had to sign in and collect a visitor pass.

I’ve spoken to the teachers and understood that so far, its still double sessions which means that  there is still a morning and afternoon session. Due to the load of the school bag, students are now issued with lockers to keep their books in schools. However its up to their own discretion, which one to be brought home and which one to be left in school (since they will need to do their homework).

As compared to my time, the school pays more emphasis on their physical training and leadership training as well. They will now have to attend OBS Camp when they are in Primary 5 (I think so).

While this session was a rather brief one but the advise from the teacher will definitely help in the preparation for Ethan and the rest to Primary 1.
