LookBack 2010 : Coming Soon

As we approach December 2010, it is time again to take a look back at what had happened over the last 12 months. If you’ve been following my blog long enough, you will know that this is a tradition that I’ve been doing since I started blogging. Every Wednesday, I will “LookBack” at one part of my life that I think is significant in 2010 to blog about.

Stay tuned…

The tea that keeps me going… At Night!

Everytime when I need to work OT, a cup of Teh-O or Tea with sugar will keep me going through the night.

I love their tea so much that I’ve gotten the Wangz Loyalty Card.

ps: This picture was taken using the Canon Powershot S95. The photo above has been edited.

The E’s Uniform

Chinese New Year is about 2 months away but we’ve anticipated that it will be pretty rush to get the new year clothings for the children in late January considering that mummy would just been released from her “confinement”.

As what I usually do, I try to find a theme for them and for Chinese New Year 2011, the theme is Peeka boo Pooh. So here’s what we got for them, Ethan, Ezanne and Evan.

Toy Story 4, featuring Ethan Pang

Gotcha, if only there will be Toy Story 4 and if only, Ethan is invited by Pixar to appear in the animated series. But at least, Ethan had another wish granted, to see Buzz Lightyear and Woody in person and have a picture taken.

Parkway Parade had organized the Toy Story Christmas Galaxy event and from 19 to 29 Nov, the children will have a chance to take a photo with Buzz and Woody once their parents had spent at least $30 at the mall. There was a Christmas Tree at the entrance of the mall and some activities for the children to play.

Christmas @ Novena Square

I love Christmas season since this is the time that shopping malls will spend to decorate the buildings as well as coming up with exciting offers and activities. This is my first year celebrating Christmas at Novena and so I’m interested to see what the shopping malls in the area has.

I was quite surprised when I saw a skating ring being setup at the beginning of the week. If you spend a minimum of $60, you will be given a chance to skate within the shopping mall itself. Cool isn’t it.

Based on my observation, don’t expect the quality of the ice to be as good as those at ice skating centres, but at least, it is decent enough for you to skate. You might think that skating is boring? Well, what about having artificial snow coming down on you while you skate? That’s exactly what the organizers did. Excellent.

Can you see the snow from the picture above?

The OKs BBQ

I just organized the 3rd Annual OKs BBQ and it was still a success since most of us turn up. As a tradition, most of them were late and it started at around 7pm.

ce we had not seen each other for almost a year (well, there are times when we meet up occasionally with one or two of them), it was definitely an enjoyable time catching up on the latest happenings around us. While I miss the asparagus with bacon, there were still quite a lot of food.

The children had a fun time playing around and the adults had a good time chatting. Well, what can I ask for with such great company, I just hope that this will continue on and on…

ps: This was the BBQ that I enjoyed myself very much before the situation turn for the worst within an hour after everyone left. The flu bug caught me after that.

Blank Message – What happened?

On a bright sunny Tuesday morning, I decided to upgrade my iPhone to iOS 4.2. Everything seem well until I received a SMS when checking on my Twitter account. The next thing I saw was this…

I thought by syncing my phone to iTunes again will help to bring back those “lost” message, but sadly it didn’t. What has actually happened? I don’t know.

The flu bug hits me and it hits me badly

I’ve always had sensitive nose and I as I grow older, the situation seems to get from bad to worse. Sadly, it hits me hard especially when I come into contact with my dog. For a few months, I’ve got to put on a mask whenever I come into contact with my dog. If I don’t, I will start to get itchy nose, starts to sneeze non stop, then running nose, block nose and teary eyes. This happened even when I last visited the zoo.

Last night, the situation got so bad that I had difficulty in breathing. I’ve no choice but to go to CGH A&E for a quick follow up. I was brought to the Flu Triage, which I thought was pretty scary.

As the name is, it is meant for flu patients until 12 midnight daily and was setup during the H1N1 period. It has its own registration counters, pharmacy and consultation rooms. With no one around, except me waiting for the doctor, the aircon on, the enclosed environment made me feel uncomfortable.

The doctor find my condition alittle hard to explain. But to solve the current problem, he gave me 2 jabs to cure my running and block nose. Then, I’m given a referral letter to the National Skin Centre to go through some form of therapy to desensitize my nose, according to the doctor, it helps.

I’m not too sure how much I’m going to benefit from it, but I’m going to give it a try.

What type of blogger am I?

I had a chance to talk to quite a number of people when attending my first blogger event, N.E.mation! 5 Blogger workshop. Then, I was asked, what type of blogger are you? It made me pause for 10 seconds as I couldn’t give an exact term to it. Well, I blog about anything and everything.

I do food reviews.

I talk about children.

I try to explore technology gadgets.

I share what I see when I travel.

I share my experience at various events.

So you see, I don’t have a general theme. Maybe I’m just a rojak blogger but like the lady whom I spoke to, she said, “Ahhh, you are a lifestyle blogger!” Well, probably.

Walking through the jungle, what do you see? ETHAN!

Yes, that was the boy whom I saw walking through the jungle with a girl. The boy is my son, ETHAN! As the days draws nearer to the performance, my heart gets heavier, I wonder to myself, “Will Ethan get stage fright? Will he be doing a good job? Will he get cranky and start making a big fuss and just walk away?”

This was the first time that Ethan was performing in front of us, at least, after getting some expert advise so we will want to snap and record this moment. As we walk into the childcare, I told wifey that I thought we were camera crew ready to take pictures and record a video.

Just before the actual show begins, the teacher got the children to do some warming up. This is important as they needs to get into the momentum to perform.

After the warm up, it was the show proper. Initially, we were told by Ethan that he was going to take on the role as a bird, but somehow, one of the students who was acting as the boy going through the jungle was sick and couldn’t make it today, so Ethan took over that role. The moment when Ethan started to perform, I almost burst into tears. Exaggerating you might think, but as a parent, seeing your children performing in front of you, with minimal guidance, you just got to be super proud of him/her and thinking how wonderful the world is. We, as parents, witness his growth, from a baby who only knows how to drink milk to a 4 years old today who is performing right in front of us.

This is the second surprise that Ethan has given me. Remember the first? So what’s the next surprise from Ethan?
