Night of the Living Dead, Halloween in Punggol

This is the third year that I’ve taken part in the Halloween celebrations in Punggol and each year, its different. It was getting bigger and better. This year, I was not able to get my face painted as I’ve got prior engagement. But at least, I was able to rush to Punggol in time for the exclusive interview with the MP as well as provide new media coverage for residents who were not able to be attend.

While I was walking around, I can’t stop but start asking the event official photographer, Mr Charlie to help me take some photos.

What is attending Halloween without entering the haunted house? Well, I did. BUT, I did so when it was in the midst of tearing down. The idea was just to explore the “house”.

Finally, do you think we look scary?

It was definitely a scary and enjoyable experience for me. Well, I just gave another first to Punggol again. Till the next Halloween, its Happy Halloween!

The Interview with my MP

How many people will have the chance to interview their MP? I got the opportunity for the Halloween Event that I was covering at Punggol Gardens to interview Miss Penny Low, MP for my area – Punggol. Though it was just a short 1 minute interview, I was still pretty nervous about it. Nevertheless, I’m glad the end product is still acceptable (in my opinion) considering that it was shot entirely from iPhone. The most amazing thing was the video was uploaded and shared almost instantaneously after the interview was over.

If you are interested, you can watch the video here too.

It feels good to be appreciated

It keeps you moving when you feel appreciated. While I was checking @punggollatest tweets tonight, I realised that someone had dropped me a thank you tweet. He did it in less than 140 characters. Amazing!

This definitely keeps me moving and want to look for even more updates for the residents. It just feel so good doing all these, no money involve, simply voluntary. As long as there are people who wants it, I will do it.

ps: Its not easy managing 2 Twitter account and sometimes I do get confused updating my Twitter account, @patrickpang and @punggollatest

Christmas coming? So soon?

Well, sometimes you just work and work and work and doesn’t realize that days passes by so quickly. During lunch time today, I was walking to Novena Square and I saw this…

WHAT! Christmas is coming? I did a calculation and concluded that Christmas is approximately 8 weeks away. Very soon, I’ll be blogging about what I’ve done this year again and what I hope to do next year.

The Hush Hush Gathering

When you meet up with your friend, you will expect to at least sit with them for about an hour and chit chat about stuff.  But the meeting that I  had was really super fast. First, I was only informed that the gathering was still on at about 10.30pm. Well initially, I was not supposed to meet up with the gals, but because Sze, our friend who flown in from Hong Kong was late, so Shux decided to call me in to meet up with her after I knock off from work. So I arrived at Makan Sutra at about 11.45pm and we chatted for about 15 minutes, camwhore for another 15 minutes and that’s the end of our gathering. The best part of the gathering was I didn’t manage to meet Shux, but just Huifan and Sze.

And so the actual reason that they were waiting for me? To send them back home… Anyway, I still enjoyed myself as its really not easy to meet Sze since she spend most of her time in Hong Kong these days.

Breakfast hunt

I’ve not woken up early for breakfast for a long long time and especially enjoying it with my dearest wifey. Last Saturday, since we got to send our maid back to the agent for some administrative work at 7am, we decided to drop by Whampoa Market, which was near to the agency. I did not know what to expect except that there are really good food.

Life is contradicting. While I want to slim down, how can I resist to good food? But well, I control myself and in my opinion, I had less food then I had taken previously. What we had? We shared a plate of carrot cake, which was really good.

The prawn noodles that we had were equally fantastic as well. I liked the prawn noodle cause it was just pork, prawn and noodles. Though we were early, but we still had to wait for about 20 minutes for our prawn noodles to be served. One thing I like about the prawn noodle was the fact that it was not self service even though there was a long queue of customers.

While we were eating, wifey suddenly told me, “Its been  long long time since we date each other, just the 2 of us”. I totally agree and I cannot remember when was the last time both of us date each other (those sending and fetching back from office trips are not counted). But with 2 kids and the 3rd one coming, I reckon it will be pretty difficult to date each other again.

Well, its difficult, but I guess, I will try. Its after all a very good experience to be able to have time just for the 2 of us.

Another reason to use Google

Other than Google’s ability to provide up-to-second search result (the search results were actually listed as I type), another good reason why I’ve chose Google is because of this background picture.

I remembered there was a day when I tried to change the background picture, it was the time when I started exploring Google and guess what, I uploaded one family photo to it. Every time when I log on to Google, I will see this picture on the home page.

Its nice, really nice…

The little adult

The little adult, a translation from Chinese, 小大人,is now used to describe Ezanne. While she is still in the midst of learning to talk, she can make sound such as Um and Ah and pointing around to tell you what she wants. Every night during dinner, she will tell you that she wants to watch Mr Bean on Disney Channel. Like us, she doesn’t like to watch commercials, so she will bring the remote control to you to tell you to do a fast forward.

When watching shows or listening to music, she will either laugh if its funny, or do a sing-a-long by humming to the tunes or follow their actions like clapping the hands. I’m really waiting for the day when she can start talking to me like what Ethan is doing right now.

Don’t you think that Ezanne looks like a little adult enjoying her show in the picture above?

A Greener and Brighter Deepavali at Little India

While I was on my way to fetch wifey, I passed by Serangoon Road, which was brightly lit up with the lights for Deepavali. Personally, I thought the lights were brighter this year and somehow, it looks really good. According to a Straits Times article on 8 October 2010, the organizers has used energy saving lights by switching it from yellow to white lights. So this might explains why it looks brighter.

The lights will be on till 13 November 2010.

Eat with moderation

Its almost a week since I came back from the camp. After attending the camp, I actually lost 2kg and so I’m quite determined that this time round, I will try to lose alittle more weight and in the worst case scenario, I will try to maintain at where I am now. In order to achieve that, I know that I must exercise more regularly as well as eating the right stuff at the right time.

Since Monday, I’ve started to eat with moderation. No more tea breaks or extra food like waffles after lunch or dinner. Even I had cravings for fast food, I will try to control. So far, its so good. What do I typically eat in a day? For breakfast, it will either be Chee Cheong Fun or maybe noodles like the one in the picture.

Lunch will be something light like porridge with fish or maybe sandwich from Subway.

Dinner will be something soupy. Rice is definitely not part of the menu.

Finally, if possible, I will try to get some fruits.

I’m not too sure if I can continue with this diet for a long long time, but I supposed I will try to do it. Some of my friends have told me to give up this idea and said that I will “surrender” very soon. Well, we shall see…
