Its happening almost everyday during lunch, unless you are going to a eatery or food court where there isn’t much people, but well again, who will go to somewhere where there is no good food, unless they have no choice. During lunch time, you will see the many ugly side of Singapore like;
a. Reserving seats using tissue paper
b. After finishing their food, taking their own sweet time to chit chat with friends and don’t bother to give up their seats
c. Fastest buttocks first
I always wonder why can’t people take turn with their friends or colleagues to buy food, but rather put a tissue paper on the table to reserve their seats. I always have the urge to throw their tissue paper away and take over their seats, after all, there isn’t any law to say that you can use the tissue paper to reserve seats and there isn’t any law to say that I can’t throw away the tissue paper!
Let me talk about fastest buttocks first before I talk about the chit chat thingy. So who sees the seat first, who act first, who will get their seats. That’s why I say, fastest buttocks first.
Finally, I hate those people who loves to chit chat and remain seated even though they’ve finish their food. This afternoon, I saw these group of nurses at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. They has already finished up their food and left with their drinks and we were searching for seats. Worst still, one of the nurse gave me that kind of why should I give up my seat to you face. Even though the nursing profession are one of the most respected occupation, but I simply think that that particular nurse does not worth their respect given to her.
So the next time you go for lunch, do you want to fight for seats and will you be considerate to give up your seats after you are done?
