Is life really that scary?

There was one night when I started to talk to my parents about how important it is to have a medical insurance plan that will get us all covered and become worry free or at least minimize the worries we have when we need to use it. So I talk about why I got both Ethan and Ezanne a well covered medical insurance plan and how much extra I paid to get both my parents in as well. And so I reminded them on CPF nomination so on and so forth.

Then my mum started to talk about maybe she will be gone first before my dad and I was like, “Hello, you just pass the half century mark and you are already thinking of when you will be gone?” Personally I thought instead of thinking being “gone” she should think about spending quality time with the grandchildren. After all, how many people would be like my parents to stay home at such young age (government actually increase the retirement age to 62) to look after grandchildren? The answer is Yes there is, but its just a few.

Then again, I’ve always shun the topic of death. I find that its a taboo topic and its really scary so whenever I can, I will drop the subject. I always feel that we should live life to the fullest and enjoy life while you can. What are your thoughts then?

Agree… I also dun like to tink, let alone talk about death… But I think that is a part of life where everyone will have to face it sooner or later.

Maybe @ different stages of life, we see see and tink about it differently
