It all started 1 month ago and we had our first meeting, though I understand from my chairman that their first meeting actually went as far back as November 2009. As per other events, I was tasked to design the ticket for the event and to take charge of the publicity, well it meant creating awareness online (via forum and Facebook).
Like I mentioned in my previous post, I was really proud of myself when I saw the tickets printed and in fact, I kept 2 for remembrance. Not too sure why, but unlike other banners and tickets I’ve designed, this is especially special to me. Just 1 week before the event, my chairman told me, “Pat, I need you to design a welcome banner.” I was like, ah ok, but how does a welcome banner needs to look like? Well, after the guidance, I’m glad many love the completed product.
Sadly, I was not able to be really involved nearing the event due to work commitments and on the day itself, I actually fell sick. But, I thought I should just attend the event since I’ve not been to a ministerial community visit before. So while I was sick, I was still trying to find some things to keep me alive…. which was in this case, the storm trooper.
In the process of the planning, I understand the process of balancing expectations. Nevertheless, it had been a great experience and like I told wifey, I don’t think I’ve been so involved in a Punggol event before like this.
