SYOG 2010 will be happening on 14 August 2010 and on 14 August 2009, the organizers had a countdown party to countdown to 1 year to SYOG. The event was held at City Hall steps and similar to the announcement of bid in 2008, the area was filled with students. There were several booths for people to try out the different sports and some performances before the countdown.
Just before the countdown, there were drummers and cheers which actually made everyone really excited about it. Though it was a short event, but looking at it, I guess it will be an enjoyable and memorable event next year. By the way, the Omega countdown clock will be a permanant fixture from now till SYOG at City Hall building.
