I’ve attended for the first time, Punggol North Street Parade. I was simply impress with all the things that I’ve seen because its like a mini Chingay. The street parade was held in conjunction with racial month in July. The guest of honour was DPM Teo Chee Hean, MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, Ms Penny Low, MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC and 3 other MP for the GRC.
Before the start of the parade, there was also an attempt to break the Singapore record for the most number of people to form the longest human train on the road. And guess what, WE DID IT!
7 schools participated in the street parade competition and I can tell you, the performance was fantastic and the students defintely put in lots of effort for it. Thanks to the sponsors, residents were treated to FREE food, from Kueh Tutu, soya bean milk to Mee Siam, Mee Goreng and even Peking Duck. I don’t think there is any event which gives away free food for residents.
Anyway, I’ll defintely be attending the next one next year and of course, continue to provide LIVE update via Twitter.
