This is a phrase that I’ve been pondering about recently and was thinking how true it is. It came about after a recent incident which I experienced it myself. Personally, I thought that everyone of us are equal and we should just look after and take care of one another. But sometimes, why do people want to take advantage of it?
Life as such again?

I always believe that be nice to others does not mean others will be, or expect to be nice to you. However on the other way, if others not nice to me, that doesn’t mean that I also have to be “not nice to them”.
Most people do good things because of expecting something goods in return, or like you say, take advantage of. So when things not going to give them some advantages, they will not do it.
Being nice have to be consistent, in anywhere anytime, not just when there are people watching, not just to gain point. So long we feel happy about it, we don’t have to care what others think about us. Even if they think we are “stupid”.
Pat you are one of those nice person I’d met. Keep it up.
thanks Fish…
