Lost at National Library

This is something that should not happen to me, but it actually happened. I went to the National Library @ Bugis to do research for my project which was due today.

I happily parked my car at the carpark and went to the Central Lending Library at B1. The first thing I got lost was I couldn’t find the OPAC terminal. Do you remember those days where the library has this terminal with green wordings and the terminal will just help you to look for the books you want. I then approached the staff whom pointed out to me where the machine was.

Then I was searching for the books that I want. It showed me, “Lee Kong Chian Library”. I thought it was BINGO, but to my shock, Lee Kong Chian Library actually has 4 levels and so, which should I go to? So I started to hamtam, I went to the first level. Worst still, when I went to terminal to search for the book that I wanted, it generate no books found. So I went to the counter and the counter staff kindly assisted me. But she highlighted to me, “Actually, my system and the system over there (pointing out to the terminal that I was using earlier on) is the same one. So what result is generated here, will be generated over there.” I felt so malu and then I told her, “Ok, nevermind, I go over to the terminal and do the search again.”

Luckily I found the book. Then the next thing was photocopying, I couldn’t find the photocopying station. After walking the entire level, I finally found the room at the corner. And thank god, I had my EZ Link card with me, I paid the photocopying charges using EZLINK CARD! Wow, I din know library has gone so high tech. I remembered the time when we need to purcharse photocopying card for the machine.

Last but not least, the view at the library was great.
