On my birthday, Jingyi brought me to Prosperity Kitchen at Mohammad Sultan Road. Its a typical Hongkong Cafe that serves, well, Hong Kong food. There wasn’t much people around as it was past lunch time (we were there about 2 something).
Based on the recommendations by the in-charge, I’ve gotten myself a Hongkong Milk Tea and Jingyi got herself a hot Honey Lemon. For the Hong Kong Milk Tea, I still can’t really figure out what’s the difference between that and the teh served at the coffeeshop.
I’ve also ordered Ham and Cheese French Toast. Something special, since the one that I like at Kim Gary only has peanut toppings. The honey comes separately so you can decide how much honey you want for your french toast, which I quite like it. When I started to eat it, it has a funny smell, but only then I discovered that its actually from the cheese. Overall, the french toast is cheesy, which I like.
Jingyi ordered Roast Duck and Chicken Porridge and I ordered Seafood Hor Fun. The porridge was really watery and the roast duck and chicken was juicy. Not really salty and Jingyi love it! I love it too. For the Seafood Hor Fun, the gravy was not mixed properly with the Hor Fun, so some parts of it are tasteless. But the prawns were crunchy and fresh.
We ordered Honey Char Siew as the side dish and a desert to try. The Honey Char Siew were served with peanuts (the serving is the same as the restaurant when we visited Hong Kong) but its alittle too oily for me. For the desert, its alittle sweet for me.
Overall, the damage was $48 and we quite like the place. There are still room for improvement, but its worth giving a try. The restaurant is located at 15, Mohammad Sultan Rd.
