Good and bad news on the economy

Really wierd to read 2 totally different news on the economy today. On StraitsTimes.com, it was reported that Singapore’s economy will be the worst performing next year in Asia. We are slightly going to slip into negative growth. According to the report, Singapore is a open economy and is easily affected by external environment due to high trade volumes. However, the good news is, our economy is expected to grow in 2010.

On Channel NewsAsia, it reported that Singapore is expected to be the first country to recover from the crisis. With US and Europe economy predicted to rebound in Q2 2009, growth in Asia is expected in Q3 2009.

Hmm, both reports seems to conflict each other, don’t know which one to digest, but I’ll rather have a wait and see attitude. Anywayz, times are bad, so if possible, remember to save for the rainy days.
